Case study: The Future is Collective (Watershed – Bristol, UK)

Propelling activism across the creative sector

This initiative was set up to further the work of individuals and projects with a community and climate activism focus.  As an Audience Development Associate I supported freelance creatives with mentoring, training and one-to-one advice and coaching.

As part of The Future is Collective I worked with theatre makers, composers, illustrators and practitioners across the arts, technology, horticulture and environmental sciences.

Using my experience as a marketing professional and coach I advised freelancers on how to connect with audiences essential to furthering their work. This included reviewing, analysing and discussing their work to date, alongside their digital output, current communications, networks and partnerships.

I delivered a group training session, ‘Selling Your Work Without Selling Out’ that examined how value-led work is integral to connecting with audiences and building a fulfilling, sustainable practice.
